Seascope Antibes getting ready for Summer

Seascope Antibes getting ready for Summer

As the days are stretching out, and we’re finally approaching the warmer months, we’re getting really excited about welcoming students to the school in Antibes. Situated in the very centre of the old town amidst the shops, bars and cafés, with the Port Vauban a 30 second walk across the road, we are ideally located in the heart of all amenities.    Port Vauban is the largest yachting harbour in Europe and accommodates almost 1500 yachts ranging in size from 4.5 meters up to a massive 180 meters.  Our Firefighting course takes place at a professional fireground just over half hour drive from Antibes.  We take care of transport there and back to Antibes of course and also provide a healthy lunch on the day.   All our equipment is of the highest standard and we have brand new gold fire suits for girls this year.

For Personal Survival Techniques we’re just a 10 minute walk away from the local swimming pool.  Students are provided with the latest Immersion survival suits to wear in the water as neccessary in a real life situation.  We have our life rafts professionally re-packed each time by the professionals at Chantiers Quelart, so that you can see what they look like compacted in their canisters and how the whole deployment technique works.  Hopefully this is just something to see during your training of course and not something you will ever need to witness or use in a real life situation.

“Great team.  Very informative.  Nice location.  Thanks to all the team!”

“I had such a fabulous week! I made friends, laughed none stop, but most importantly learnt a lot.  These guys know their stuff and teach you everything you will need to know about ship/boat/yacht life in a friendly and professional manner.  I would recommend them to anyone!   Thank you xx Grace Walsh”

“I must say – I did enjoy both days especially swimming pool part.   We did everything step by step and I was very impressed…  I was so impressed because it was a like real life scenario.   We jumped into the swimming pool in our immersion suits and life jackets from 3m height, practiced some swimming, turned over the life raft, sea anchor operations etc. Very good teaching points by experienced instructors with a good sense of humour. We all had good laugh and that way you will remember even more.  Life raft operations were explained from the scratch – the point being in life raft canisters and that I have not seen before. It was great experience to see how it is actually done in the water. I would definitely recommend you.”

“Well run, good fun, helped reinforce a positive attitude towards drills on board.  All our crew enjoyed it and found it most convenient we could do all in the area.”
