STCW BASIC & REFRESHER TRAINING – ANTIBES

STCW Basic Training in Antibes.

Basic consists of x5 modules and provides students with an invaluable introduction and knowledge to work at sea.  It is a legal requirement for anyone working onboard a commercial vessel greater than 24meters in length, and strongly recommended for anyone who wishes to embark upon a career at sea.

Our STCW (Standards of Training, Certification and Watch keeping) courses are run in accordance with section A-VI/1 of the STCW Code, to include the Manila amendments introduced in 2010.  The following modules are covered;

Our Basic Training package covers the five course modules:

• Personal Safety & Social Responsibility
  An understanding of on board working conditions; safety procedures and accident prevention
• Personal Survival Techniques
  Survival at sea, immersion suits, survival craft familiarisation
• Elementary First Aid
  Basic First Aid Training, dealing with casualties, controlling bleeds, resuscitation
• Fire Prevention & Fire Fighting Fire
  Fire causes, prevention, extinguishing techniques
• Proficiency in Security Awareness
  Importance of on board security and how to recognise and react in the event of security threats

STCW REFRESHER / UPDATED PROFICIENCY
Seafarers already in possession of STCW basic training certificates issued prior to 2012 will need to take updated proficiency in Personal Survival Techniques and updated proficiency in Fire-Prevention and Fire-Fighting techniques.
