What Is It?
A Level 2 Food Hygiene training course helps people who work in this sector understand their legal responsibilities and know what constitutes best practice in regards to controlling food safety hazards, controlling temperatures, food storage, food preparation, personal hygiene and premises cleaning. It is an in-depth course that builds on basic knowledge and understanding of food safety in a workplace.
Who Is It For?
A level 2 Food Safety and Hygiene course is for anyone who handles, prepares or serves food in the catering industry. Regardless of what industry you work in whether it be on board a ship, hotel or restaurant if you come into contact with food during your working day chances are you will require this certificate at some stage.
The European Union Regulation (EC) No 852/2004 on hygiene of foodstuffs requires all food handlers to be appropriately trained in how to carry out their roles safely. This course ensures that you comply with this legal responsibility by providing learners with a thorough introduction to the correct food handling practices.
If you are looking to advance your career or move up roles to a manager or supervisor role the Level 2 course offers a stepping stone to then advance to other courses such as the Level 3 Food Safety and Hygiene.
